A Sudden Spark of Inspiration

So, I've decided to go into an interesting route with this game. I am currently working on a branching story at this point. There is a decision to be made that will allow for a good path or an evil path. So far, I have shown that Kimberly is a kind and loving person, but she also carries in her heart a deep anger that can get the better of her. I don't want to give anything away, but a major decision in how the game pans out from here on in will be included in the next release. This will help me to regain my interest as the creator as well, as I will be taking my characters in a new direction.

Not dead, just dazed

So, I know that I haven't really done much in the ways of, well, anything really. I've been transitioning between jobs and it's been a rough couple of months with bills, so my priorities were elsewhere. Thinks are starting to smooth out and I'll have time to get back to work on the game. As it stands now, there will be little in the ways of fleshing out this game, as I am planning to move on to VX Ace once I finish with this story arc. The characters will be the same, just think of this game as the prequel to something bigger in the future. I have always viewed this as a way to introduce the characters and to tell the story of Kimberly and Kitayanna. Arian and Shakira have grown their own special place in my heart as well the more I work with them. Expect to see much more character development in the near future.

Release 6-30-12

Here is the latest installment. I've added some new things here and there, added in a few giggles moments between characters. If you haven't seen, the upper level of the castle is now accessible. A bit more life to the world in general I think. Also, added the first few steps into Aliran. Don't expect a warm welcome into the new kingdom. And finally, a new sexy scene at the end. Enjoy everyone. I should have at least one Bad End by the next release.

Bad Ends

So, with an overwhelming victory, it seems Bad Ends will make their way into the game. I cannot promise they will happen right away, but I now see that people want them. I'm open to suggestions, so if you have any ideas, I might just listen to them.

Progress on the game is slow right now, as I am taking a needed break from working to look for REAL work.

Release 5-27-12

Release 5-27-12. New music, new scenes and a new party member. Wow, my creative juices are flowing now. Old scenes updated and new sprites in a few places. A few typos killed and grammar fixed in most places. I'm sure there's a few left I haven't found yet. >.<

Bad Ends?

So I've has some people ask me about bad ends. I know some games use them as little events after losing to key events. I've toyed with the idea, so now I'm leaving it up to you. Do you want to see bad ends? Want to see that pesky Rogue Knight get what's coming to her? Want to see Lady Blood Blade dominate those blasted interlopers? Vote now!

Progress

I've been working hard on the new update. I finished the scene Kitayanna was so adamant about getting to. I've also added the next area, the mountain pass. If all goes well, I'll be posting a new version in a few days.

Clearing the board

Well, I have news on a bit decision. I have decided to scrap the Yanfly scripts as they I just can't seem to get them to work properly for me. I'm spending all my time trying to figure them out instead of focusing on the story. I'm sorry to all of those who liked that system. Now, I may try again in the future should I find a way to get them to work, but my lack of scripting knowledge just makes it more of a headache than it's worth. That and while trying to upgrade to an updated Yanfly script, I forgot to make a workable copy before I began editing and I just ended up ruining everything, so I just cleared the scripts out. I still have the Caterpillar script as that one was separate.

Release 5-22-12

And so, after much slaving and sweating, changes to plans and general 'damn that was harder than it needed to be', the newest version is up. I hope everyone enjoys. I've noticed that I was starting to deviate from my original plan on this being a love story between Kimberly and Kitayanna, so I've given them another scene together to help build their relationship. Also, a few music changes. I've added some new battlers for enemies and increased the life totals of the bosses. I'm terrible at the whole balance thing with the game, so if anything seems to hard or easy, let me know and I can edit accordingly. Most of all, I hope you all enjoy the story as it progresses.

Dusting out the cobwebs

So I've finally got the muse to start working again. I've figured that if I can't get the events to work like I want them, I'll just replace them with pictures from 3DCG. It works well when I feel like throwing something at my screen.

I have also decided to go with a more linear path for now. Since I can't find a good ship tileset to save my life, I'll just have to go with the overland route.

Bio: Born the second child of her wondering tribe, she has grown up in the shadow of her older brother. Her only purpose in life was to prepare for a day should her brother die and she would take his place. She really cares not for the idea of rules over her people. Though Arian are revered in her tribe, she has always been treated as an outcast for her ideas of seeing what civilized lands look like.

An idea

So I found out that RPG Maker VX Ace will be released in full English next week and I thought I would test it out to see if I should switch over to it or stick with plain old VX.

Sorry I was away longer than I thought. I had some family issues to take care of and didn't have internet access or much access to my own computer. I do plan on working on this project very soon once I test out VX Ace.  That is, once I get away from Mass Effect 3  >.<

A slow time

So I know I haven't posted much lately. It's kinda a rough time in my life as of late. It's getting close to the 1 year mark that my Grandfather passed away. He and I were very close and I just don't feel much like working on the game right now. I promise I'll get back to work, it just may be a few weeks before I can get back into the swing of things.

Next planned update

So I've decided that the next update will be a split path. Depending on which way the party chooses to go, each one will add one of two new party members. The question is, what gender should the new members be? Should it be male, female, or another Arian? This new party member will be a love interest for Aria. Feeling left out, and kinda like the 3rd wheel, she will look to this new member for her own 'needs'.

So I suppose the real question becomes, what content do you all want to see? Futa-futa, futa-female, or male-futa. Not really a fan of futa-male, that and Aria's personality really isn't the dominating type.

Update 1-7-12

I figure it's easier for me to go by dates than try to do the whole Alpha, Beta, 1.xx style cause, well, I don't really understand it so, yeah. Enjoy.

Updates include:
Sexy love scene with Kimberly and Kitayanna
Adding of two party members. Kitayanna and Aria
New history of the world by the Head Priestess of the Temple in Kreston.
New areas, new enemies, and bosses.

I realize that Sarnas is kinda a dead town. No buildings have been added yet. Will get to it in next update.

A small and unexpected issue

So I've got almost everything done for the next update. All cutscenes accounted for, all spelling and grammar errors stomped out, (at least I think) and the new boss is in place. Only one small problem. I'm running the Caterpillar script so the party will follow instead of not being seen. Whenever I turn the trigger on to make them go away for scenes, it kills all sound in the game. I toyed and toyed with it for hours and still I can't make it work. I'm thinking I'll just scrap the Caterpillar script and go for a traditional RPG type with only the main character visible. -sigh-

I made alot of progress last night. If I can keep the pace up, I should have a release by the end of next week. I hate to promise anything, because life has a way of keeping me from doing the things I like it seems lately. So fingers crossed.

Aria vowed to her mother on her death bed that she would follow her mother's path and care for the follows the Goddess Ariana loves so much.
